As custodians and supporters of many historic and heritage buildings and monuments around Aberdeenshire and beyond, we welcome enquiries from film and TV production companies who may be seeking unique filming locations.
The NESPT is the custodian of many of the harbour buildings surrounding Portsoy’s 17th century harbour, which has already been featured in BBC period dramas The Camerons and The Shutter Falls, as well as a Tennent’s Lager advert (which parodied the original Whisky Galore film) and subsequently Gillies MacKinnon’s 2016 remake of ‘Whisky Galore!’. Most recently, Portsoy played host to the cast and crew of Peaky Blinders, where Portsoy doubled up as Miquelon Island featured in the first episode of the sixth season of the popular hit series.

NESPT’s Retail and Holiday Lets Manager, Susan Rayne, was employed as location assistant during the Peaky Blinder filming. Working closely with props, construction, sound effects and film teams and the local community, Susan has first hand experience of the film production process, and is keen to support future projects to place Portsoy firmly on the film and TV location map.
If you are looking for your next filming location, please get in touch with us for an informal discussion where we will be happy to share both our past experiences and local knowledge.
